Economic Forum, dedicated to the investment opportunities of Kazakhstan was held in Vienna on September 28, 2018. The event, arranged by the Economic Chamber of Austria, was attended by the representatives of government authorities, business circles and commercial organizations of the two countries, “NMH “Baiterek” JSC, “Kazakh Invest” JSC, “Zerde” Holding.
During the forum, Managing Director - Member of the Management Board of “Baiterek” Holding Ainur Kuatova made a report on the instruments of financial and non-financial support for the promotion of Kazakhstan-Austrian projects.
As A. Kuatova noted in her speech, cooperation with European countries is a priority area of the international activity of “National Managing Holding “Baiterek” JSC. At the same time, Austria ranks ninth among the countries of the European Union in terms of bilateral trade, and Kazakhstan, in turn, is the second trading partner of Austria among the CIS countries. The volume of bilateral trade by the results of 2017 amounted to more than 1 billion euros, which was 28% higher than the same indicator in 2016. It is noteworthy that Kazakhstan's export amounted to 945 million euros, and import from Austria - about 150 million euros.
A. Kuatova noted that now “Baiterek” Holding is executing a new approach to work with investors, based on the principle of “one-stop shop”. It provides a comprehensive approach to solving the issues of investments support and effective use of financial instruments of all 11 subsidiaries of the Holding.
- “Baiterek” Holding enjoys considerable support from the sole shareholder, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and has a risk rate at the sovereign rating of Kazakhstan. As the main financial institution for the development of the country, the Holding is ready to act as a reliable partner for business initiatives of Kazakhstan and Austria, providing various forms of support, starting from the stage of projects structuring to financing them and providing of export support, - said Ainur Kuatova.
During the forum the reports on the development of the investment climate, current opportunities for Austrian enterprises, legislative support for investors and legal aspects for doing business in our country were also presented.
