The government is planning to start subsidizing rent for underprivileged people in May of 2022. This was announced by Aidar Arifkhanov, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As previously reported, Otbasy Bank, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has developed a rent subsidizing program.
– We plan to only use online services and completely eliminate the use of paper. We will do everything online: accept applications, check applicants’ income and other criteria, check the real estate parameters, draw up, sign and register agreements. At present, we’re finishing adjusting the website for the rent subsidizing program, – said Aidar Arifkhanov.
According to him, self-service zones will become available in 17 branches of Otbasy Bank for people who do not have access to the Internet. People will be able to get consultations in the bank’s branches and the call center. To provide the service, the bank will be given access to 16 government databases.
Also, Aidar Arifkhanov stated that Otbasy Bank will create a Housing Provision Center to reform the housing policy. The center will register and record all those in need of housing. It will also distribute real estate according to applicants’ income levels.
The Housing Center’s database will be integrated with governmental databases of individuals. This will help automate the processes of maintaining, monitoring and updating the list of citizens in need of housing. The database, which currently has about 590 thousand people, is expected to get transferred to Otbasy Bank.
